Abstract
Guided imagery is a widely recognized mind-body technique that has shown promise in reducing stress, anxiety, and pain in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. This article explores the integration of blockchain technology to enhance the delivery and personalization of guided imagery interventions for these patients. By leveraging blockchain’s secure, decentralized framework, a digital platform can be developed to deliver tailored guided imagery sessions while ensuring the privacy and protection of sensitive patient data. The proposed platform would allow patients to access individualized mental health resources, track their progress, and share their experiences with healthcare providers and support networks, all within a secure and immutable system. Blockchain's transparency and decentralized nature enable continuous updates to guided imagery content based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes, facilitating a more personalized approach to care. This review examines the potential benefits of blockchain for improving patient autonomy, enhancing therapy adherence, and creating a collaborative ecosystem between patients, healthcare providers, and mental health professionals. The article also discusses challenges related to technological adoption, data ownership, and the need for robust regulatory frameworks. By integrating blockchain technology, this innovative approach could provide breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy with a more effective, secure, and patient-centered guided imagery experience.
